I started Buttercup in the middle of the pandemic when I realized that I hated all of my bras. My underwired ones were demonically uncomfortable and unnecessarily sexy given that the rest of my outfit was sweatpants and a t-shirt, and all of the comfy-looking ones I could find online resembled orthopaedic shoes (but for boobs).

So I had an idea. An informal, at-home bra that was meant to be cute, not sexy. It had to be super comfy (no wires allowed!) and it had to be supportive. I registered the company, my friend Chloe came up with the name Buttercup, and I was off to the races!

For now we just make one shape. But more are coming! We’re working on two new silhouettes and five new prints, all designed by artists in Australia and the USA. You can sign up to our newsletter to stay updated, and you can email me at clara@ciaobuttercup.com if you have any questions.

I hope Buttercup helps to make your day a little more joyful and your boobs a little lighter!

xoxo
